DigiChecks Project presented at ESRI Conference
Last 4th of October, the DigiChecks project was set to take center stage at the ESRI Conference, held at IFEMA Madrid. The conference featured a dedicated segment on “Proyectos de Transformación Digital destacados para crear el mundo que queremos ver” (Outstanding Digital Transformation Projects to Create the World We Want to See), during which the project’s coordinator, FCC Construcción, presented their practical case study on “La transformación digital de FCC Construcción” (The Digital Transformation of FCC Construcción).
The individuals who presented the case study of FCC Construcción were:
- David García Nuñez: Communications Director in the construction area of FCC Group
- José Carlos Rico: Head of BIM Management Department at FCC Construcción
- Juan Ramón: BIM Manager of the A465 Project at FCC Construcción
As part of the DigiChecks project team, Juan Ramón presented the A465 project in Wales, one of the three pilots of the DigiChecks project, which is currently underway. It is an example of how digital transformation is reshaping the construction industry. Specifically, Juan Ramón‘s presentation delved into the integration of BIM, GIS, Drones and Deep Learning Applied to Monitoring and Site Tracking on the A465 project.
José Carlos Rico mentioned that “FCC is a leading company in innovation, it is committed to digitalization and positioning its projects as levers of social, economic and environmental transformation. We have designed a geoportal as a meeting point around GIS technology. The objective is to bring innovative and informative digital tools to users, in order to obtain an improvement in corporate procedures and processes, in such a way that we respond to the needs in all phases of the projects. Thanks to Geographic Information Systems combined and integrated with BIM, we provide projects with new collaboration and coordination tools, both with corporate teams and with our stakeholders.”
The ESRI Conference provided a platform for the DigiChecks project to share its accomplishments and insights. It was an event to foster the exchange of knowledge, networking opportunities, and inspiration for further digital transformation within the construction industry.
